Weird Wine
Life is too short to sip the same wine, uncork new adventures with every glass

Sometimes, it’s easier to start with what I’m not. I’m not a wine connoisseur. I don’t work in the wine industry. I’m a software developer at a startup in Europe. So, if you’re after expert recommendations before buying your wine, I’m afraid this won’t be the place for you.
But what I am is someone who got bored of drinking the usual French, Italian, and Spanish wines. Don’t get me wrong—they’re fantastic, full of variety, and always reliable.
But whilst in Azerbaijan, I decided to try the local wine. Not because I expected a mind-blowing experience, but simply out of curiosity. And you know what? It was good. Not spectacular, but different, enjoyable—and now, every time I see it, I smile.
That got me thinking: Where else could wine be made? Not because I wasn’t happy with my Italian Barolo or my French Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but because I wanted to discover wines that few people had tried. And, let’s be honest, I also enjoyed the smug satisfaction of drinking something my friends had never heard of!
And so, this little venture was born. The goal? To build a business or community that seeks out the strangest, most rogue wines from around the world for us to explore. Not because they’ll instantly replace our favourites—though who knows?—but because they’re weird. And I like weird.
